Transmission bearing groove?
« on: February 29, 2012, 10:59:44 AM »
I did a search for this and found some similar answers but not quite.  I'm replacing the transmission bearings and the grooves on my replacement bearings are narrower and the ring doesn't fit.   It's quite a bit narrower and as you can see the bearing doesn't fit flush.

The one that was in my engine was this one.  Stamped 6205nx3.  Size 6205 with a n groove.

The bearing supplier didn't have that one so I ordered 6205nc4 as posted on another thread.  Still an N groove.

However their diameter is the same the groove width on the new bearing is too narrow to fit the ring.  Here is a side by side picture so you can see the difference.

Any ideas as to what is supposed to be a standard groove size is different?
