Cami like Vic Edelbrock's daughter. We have a Libby, Lacey and Caley. I like to keep the first name short because we have a long last name.

I have a cousin that named his kid Gracie-   You beat me to that suggestion.

Months April, May, June,  or flowers- Iris, Violet, Rose (Rosie), Lilly, or something less common where whe'd be the only one. Animals - Daphne is kind of protozoan sounding. Delphine  is what Josie named her daughter (more popular among Canuks, I guess.)

Back whne I joined the military,  a lot of the shirts and pants were stenciled with white or black marker pens.  I remember thinking how much having a long name must have sucked.  It was more the last name though...

, they'd call her Crabby Abby.  ;D

Oh yeah, good point. Remember to check things that rhyme with whatever name you pick.

Also try to avoid anything on this top 10 list.

Otherwise she'll have three other girls with the same name in her class.

I knew a "Terin Hiney" before she got married...

I basic training there was a kid with such a long, screwed up name, the drill sergeant just called him "alphabet."

For the first couple weeks it doesn't really matter what you call her, she ain't gonna come to you anyway.
Get to know her for a day or two and then "give" her a name.
Pick some favorites, but get to know her first.

Our youngest took two weeks to get her name. My idea but she had to think of it before she agreed.

We have some friends who had a baby girl while living in Scotland. They called her Misty. Unfortunately there surname was Winters. Kids  can be renowned for making up names for each other and as you may have guessed a good number of the local kids nicknamed her "Foggy Summers"

For our son we had a few picked out and I asked him what he wanted in the hospital after he was born... He seemed to like Ethan, so we went with that. We'll likely do the same for our daughter....

1995- When I was in High school I came up for my daughters name. (no I wasnt married or with lady expecting) It just struck me as THE name that when and if the time came...was my daughters name. "Maxwell" was going to be her name. It is strong. It is a character builder. I imagined her being a beautiful princess that was not self concious, or to be pushed around.
2005- My daughter was born. My wife had known me from High School, and knew that I had my daughters name already.....but she talked me out of it. We decided on the name "Hannah"....and I couldnt imagine her as anything else now. FYI she is my beautiful princess that is not self concious or to be pushed around.

Marriage changes nothing, but having a child changes the world.

How about the name "Emma"? Simple sweet name. (easy for kids to spell)
