Need a baby girl name....
« on: February 29, 2012, 07:14:56 PM »
So I got a baby girl coming in six weeks and we are stumped on names... Figured a community this large of people who have good taste in bikes might be able to come up with a name or two....

You're a brave man.  Congrats on the new squirt, though!

congrats, i suspose, I have 2 girls 18 and 20, Lacy Jo and Malary Kay. The middle name are from the grandmothers.

you will do things in the future you never ever thought you would do, for example I am a union Mason and weldor of 26 years, I ended up coach girls gymnastics for 10 years.

not sure why, but some parents would get uneasy when they found out they were turning little 8 year old sally over the rough looking construction worker guy  :o  ( in a whisper) are you sure this is a good idea ;D

Congrats!

How about Shelby... as in COBRA!?

Got some friends who named their daughter Piper... I thought that was kind of cool too.

Thanks for the congrats everyone. We already have an almost three year old boy, so having a girl should be fun. Food suggestions on names too, some are already on our list. Pretty good chance Charlie, Piper, and Lacy will e added as well. Should have put up this post months ago... Looking forward to checking out some more...

We had friends in TEXAS that named their girl ANGEL STAR.
That might work good if your last name was COMET  but not so good for LEBOWSKI.
Remember also what initials her name will make, You wouldn't want a Ashley Susan Samuels/ASS

I have a daughter name Rebekah Rae/ Rebekah from the bible/Rae from Fay Rae 40s movie star.

Congrats good luck on finding the perfect name.

Before my grand daughter Madison was born my daughter had a baby names book.  One of the names was Velveeta.  Who would name their kid after cheese ?

I'm not big on baby name books. I think they are a waste of money, but the baby  name wizard was an interesting book. It puts a different perspective on names. We didn't name our kids using the book but it reinforced our reasoning for the names we chose.

No BS.  My sister teaches 3rd grade.  She has a kid named  La-sha.  Pronounced La-da-sha.  The hyphen is not always silent  ;D

I've always liked the older girls names  -  Camille, Sarah, Emily

congrats.
Yep, I'm the kid that figured out how to put things back together...eventually.

More good suggestions. We are leaning towards old fashion names but still want something unique. Seems like boy names were so much easier...  I work with a lot of inner city youth and it is amazing some of the names I hear. Although I was set on naming my boy Elwood Verland Schlitz last name, so who am I to judge... (Elwood= blues brothers, Verland=Grandpa, Schlitz=hometown beer)

For old fashioned names... Grace has a nice ring to it.  You could call her Gracie while she's little.

Who's peaking out from under a stairway, calling a name that's lighter than air?  Who's reaching out to give me a rainbow?  Everyone know it's WINDY.

I think that the second like but I could be wrong, not checking.  I always liked that name.  That and Stormy, Autumn, Winter, etc..

Abigal or Abby for short.

We've got a neighbor who has a daughter with that name.  When she was young (2 - 4 yo) and she'd throw a tantrum, they'd call her Crabby Abby.  ;D
