Because nothings appears to be wrong with them. The swingarm moved freely up and down with no slop before I removed it. I was using the if it aint broke don't fix it mentality.
If you don't want to remove them then at least protect them from powdercoat. I used a long bolt with a large washer on both sides to cover the holes. It's next to impossible to remove the powdercoat from deep inside the swingarm.
I am nearing the stage of my build where I will be getting things powder coated, the swingarm being one of the items. Is it necessary to remove the bushings prior? I have a K4 750 which does not have the zerk fitting(s).

I have a K4 750 which does not have the zerk fitting(s).When folks have me rebuild them with Oilite bushings, I have them cap off the ends as described above (with 12" long allthread rod, 2 fender washers, nuts) and paint them. They come out fine.
