I'm working on my banshee, need the joint x2 which is essentially rubber hose with two hose clamps.  Think the exhaust gets too hot to actually use something like radiator hose and hose clamps?  The prefabbed alternatives are at least 30 bux a pair!!

What type of special rubber compound do the O.E. manufacturer's use that is so heat resistant ? or is it only Yamaha that does that  ...I had a 78'DT250E that I purchased one for and still have it...probably try to sell it on Feebay.

Look for silicone hose; you might check Grainger. I bought a short length to couple the compressor output of a turbo to the intake manifold of a Corvair once, at Yavapai Fleet, after melting a rubber coupling. I recall it was expensive, like dollars per inch??!!

I think with the amount of vibration on an ATV and the dirt and dust, it would hold for about 3.5 seconds

Those have one piece expansion chamber/muffler... not sure what you're talking about.

No, he's right - the Kawasaki H1 and H2's used a blue silicone seal to join the headpipe and the muffler. There are clamps on each one.

I would guess the diameter is 1.5" . Look at Reproduction Decals.com, I'm almost certain they would have them.
