Winnemucca, NV. BOTH CBXs had alternator failures the day before, so we pulled out the headlight fuses and limped into Winnemucca. I had long-lost cousins there, so I got in touch with them. Turned out my cousin's husband was a biker, and they welcomed our motley crew. We tore down the CBXs in his small garage, and found worn out alternator brushes on both bikes. Try to find OEM CBX brushes in 1979 in Winnemucca. Yeah, right. We went to an electric motor shop and got some brushes that were close, and filed them down to fit into the Honda brush-holders.

Pictures of pictures, not so bad. My bought new 73' 500 in garnet brown and my bought used K4 750 with a windjammer. The other pic is my 750 with my 66 Impala SS at the motel in Scottsburg Ind. Heading to the flattrack nats at Louisville. The wives came later in the car.

Sorry for the blur, two pictures from the motel and the track at Louisville. My brother was working at the Kawasaki shop at the time, some 900's amongst the Hondas and a Goldwing. The couple on the Goldwing were going to buy a vette but got a civic and a wing instead.

Actually, I'm not in any of those pics, but you're still right about the hair!

Allright guys, even though I'm just 40, I want to put a word of advice to you:

Even when getting out old pictures' boxes and scanning seems such a good idea, it will positively bring you some sadness. It has been a while since you watched those pictures for the last time, and you know you had them somewhere. But the time you need to browse through them, pick the best ones and scan them will make you remember those times, and that will bring you a pint of sadness.

I would not live my whole life at any decade in particular, each one has its own good and bad things. Those were the days, we lived the better we could, and that's exactly the same we are doing now. NOW is no better or worse than then, it is just different.

Pornstache.... I like that word.... is the kind of word that only works if no explanation is needed hahahaha

This was a trip to Albury in Victoria in 1981. I still ride this bike today but I have restored it back to stock. It was my attempt at a cafe style in those days.( The green 500 is mine)

Here is my '69 in Dec. of '70. I bought it for $1,450

I was stationed in the Air Force north of Dallas and here is a picture of it during a little snowstorm. Notice I added some gold jelly hand grips!

The Charleston (SC) County Library has a huge book sale every year. I found this photo in "The Wings of Honda Cookbook", 1974. This is sorta the companion photo to Flybox's: Shriner's wives, matching bikes. Not the best quality photo or scan, but you can see CB500's on either end of the "wings".

This photo was taken in 1981 in Red Lodge MT. When I was out there in 2009 the insurance building across the street was exactly the same. Does that qualify?

lol quite possibly. Thought it would be cool if there could be recent pics taken in the same spots with diff. people and bikes, incase these sites get revisited. But you never know with that insurance building, it certainly does look to draw a crowd
