Coil question about the cb900?
« on: June 02, 2006, 01:54:57 PM »
Was the 82 cb900 equipped with cdi typed coils or inductive type coils? I ask because before I fit a set to my cb350f I want to know if im going to mess something up.
Thanks.

I am not sure if this will answer your question but....
the cb900 used a type of electronic ign however; the cb900 coil is a relatively common upgrade for the 750.
they generally work with no issues as long as the charging system is ok.
now I am not sure if your 350 system will be able to handle the additional current draw.
the 900 coild are about 3 ohm or so maybe 2.5
some additional info may be required.

See, thats what im trying to figure out. My wires are about shot so my thought was to just replace the whole coil system with something "upgraded" but im not sure what to use.

Nope.  The CB900 did not have CDI.  Electronic ignition, yes.  CDI, no.  The coils are swappable, very swappable.   :)
