New ride?
« on: January 28, 2012, 08:01:38 AM »
If all goes according to plan, I will be trading in my Monster and start the riding season off on this:

It's almost the same red as my CB.  :)

KBO2,
Does that sweet ST2  Duc have less comfort than your Monster Duc ? I like the sport touring part of it and...The FULL fairing  :) and hard bags ! I would have a little trouble with the folded knees over the miles...I'd have to stand up on the pegs every 100 miles to make it work.I had an 86' VFR750F for a couple years and loved it...great for cheating the wind resistance w/ those Full fairings ;).
75' CB400F/'bunch o' parts' & 81' CB125S modded to a 'CB200S'
I love the small ones too !

It actually has about the same ergonomics as my Monster does. About the same as your VFR was.

It will be the first bike I've owned with a fairing. ;D And I've been riding for, like, 27 years. ::) I guess it's time to see what all the fuss is about, huh? ;)

Well, the deal fell through...  :'(  We started February with over $2500 in bills that popped up between cars and pets. I still have issues with my truck (gas leak) that I haven't fixed yet. I had things basically figured out down to the dollar to make it work, but when those things hit, they hit hard. :( The dealer sounded really disappointment when I told him, and I don't blame him. It's still an awesome bike, though. He shouldn't have too much issue finding another buyer.

The one "good news" story, though, is that I FINALLY, after ten years of searching, found a set of hard bags that I can put on my Monster. It's the OEM manufacturer that made the bags for Ducati a while back, NonFango. They have been ordered and should arrive soon. FAR cheaper than a new bike that's for sure.

Should look something like this when I am done (just with black bags, not silver):

Then all you'll need to complete it is a nice Custom Fairing.
