plans for 836 build
« on: March 22, 2012, 07:14:58 pm »
I bought a '76 CB750K June 2011 for $280. I quickly removed the motor after not being able to get it running, and discovered a large hole behind the sprocket cover! Damn! I had to find another engine that could donate its cases. I've ssllllooooowly been getting it together, and I recently decided to go with an 836cc kit. This is my first rebuild, of any kind. So I don't know what kind of mods to do to support the increase in power. I was told stiffer valve springs, cam, and stronger head studs. Is that all? Or do I need new rods too? I'm tryin to build this on a budget, but if it's not possible, I need to know that too! Thanks guys.

836.....Rods are not needed.  Save alot of money there.  A good cam, valve springs, cam chain and guides, and a good valve job. A nice header  and carbs when the budget allows.   ;)
