This is my first motorcycle ever.. and have gotten abit fascinated by the cafe racers so why not make one?
these are the mods i have done so far:
99-07 hayabusa front forks with clipon handlebars
99-07 hayabusa left 6pot caliper and disc
08 gsxr vortex adjustable rearset
yamaha r6 fuel tank cap
knee dents in tank
made a new seat
+++
and alot more to come, hope to be finished before summer

how it looked the first day i got it

started disassembly right away

removing the ugly

testing out for "the look" hehe

dont like the yellow

just testing to see how it would look with a cafe rear

abit cooler then stock

tank knee dented

ready for some lead work on the side to fill the place where the honda badge was

Nice! How did you go about fitting the spoke wheel on the larger axle? I'm considering a similar swap.

the front axle was a mix of the hayabusa and the original cb axle

here are some more pics with a better camera

gas tank, before welding in the r6 tank piece

started fitting the exhaust so i can make the rest of it

the rearset is coming on

got some work done on the bike

started on the exhaust and got myself a seat from ebay.

here is the exhaust and seat on the bike

from behind

i shortened the seat by 6cm and narrowed it by 5-6 cm so it would a bit sleeker design then the orginal

taped the headlight on to get a look at how it would look

cant wait to start painting it

Two questions:
1.) What are your plans for gauges?

2.) Do you have any clearance issues with the 'Bussa/CB Hybrid front end? I would love to get some more info on that set-up.

I have ordered a acewell speedo/tachometer that will be integrated in the upper triple tree

The hayabusa front end fits very good on the cb, only thing we did was to modify the steering stem so that it fitted the lower triple tree

have done some work on the sidecovers and removed the hole to key on the original seat since i dont have it anymore

some bondo

fiberglassed the seat

sidecovers with filler on them looking alot better without the keyhole

seat done

just go to sand it down and do some bondo work and filler and make a way to attach it to the bike now

Your not wasting time. Have you thought about a box swingarm? The stock ones are a bit flexy.

have been thinking about it, but its not in my budget for this year since im taking my license aswell and that costs about 3000 dollar. so maybe next year i will get a boxed swingarm and a little more horespower in the engine

been some time since last time now.. been working on alot of other stuff lately so havent had time for the bike.. but got some stuff done today, so here is the pics

made the frame for the seat and rear light

have also testfitted the new rear shocks

straight from behind.. should get a wider tire on there hehe

and another.. soon im gonna start the final dissasembly and get it painted

did some painting on som of the parts this weekend.. cant wait to put things back together now

The frame is ready for some filler

the wheels is also ready for some filler

all the parts i painted

the frame in Flat black

wheels became gloss black

calipers is painted a "brembo Gold" color

hehehe not that easy.. alot of trial and error as this is my first bike.. i usually build and paint cars.

here is a pic of a car that i did the bodywork and paint on for a friend

but have done some work on the tank of bike now

starting to look like something

r6 gas cap.. the bolts will be changed for some allen bolts

hope to get some filler on it tomorrow

i have gotten som filler on the tank and the seat

just sprayed on the filler

tank and seat put on the bike. the tank is abit low as it doesnt have the rubber fitting in the back

its gonna be sitting like this for a while now as i am getting surgery to my hands in a week

Nice build! I can see you're really talented.

I'm in the process of swapping a hayabusa fork as well and I was hoping you could answer 2 questions I have.

1. Did you grind off the upper headtube stopper (if that's what it's called) from the cb750 frame or did you grind the one from the hayabusa upper triple clamp?
2. If you did, what is stopping the handlebars/clip ons from turning and hitting the tank.

here is a picture below of my confusion. I kinda know the answer but just wanted to make sure before I start grinding stuff off.

Been awhile since i have done anything with the bike since i started getting problems with my hands last spring.. started loosing the feeling in my fingers

so i had to go the docter and i had severe carpel tunnel in both my wrists. So i have gone to some operations and havent been able to work on the bike until now

But now i have taken the engine apart and fixed it up, polished and painted it before reassemble. Here are a couple pics of it almost done
