Need help with 82' CB650 jugs/pistons
« on: March 05, 2012, 12:06:48 AM »
I have an 82' CB650 that I am fixing up.  I saw some sand in the airbox so i pulled the engine apart to make sure the bores were ok.  They were, but in the process I noticed there were a few broken fins on the cylinders.

I have a 2nd engine with jugs with no cracked fins but the bores are rusty and pitted.  Do any of you have a source for .25mm over 650 pistons?

Should I just get some good condition used jugs from ebay, home them and re-ring my pistons?

Let me know that you think...thanks!

There was some a couple months ago but priced very high.  Also been some wiesco (sp) but also very hi priced.  If you but from ebay unless you want to repaint or strip
you'll need to get a nitehawk (82) or any other 650 cyls.
FYI I do have a cyl loose if your interested.

Do you have one liner or a set of jugs?  I am thinking I want to get a set of jugs/cylinders complete that I can hone and use stock diameter pistons with new rings.

I'm parting out a 1980 650. Drop a line if you decide to go with good used.
