my slowly evolving cb550 when i bought the bike it looked like crap and ran like crap 2 years later its getting there

i dont know what they were thinking with the seat and the pipes were junk and made it run way to lean

i wanted a better seat so i made one how hard could it be ?

i found a ruby glass tail light from the 30s or something on ebay and molded it in to the seat the

bike gets a dark metallic green paint job and then i find a a 82 cb650 night hawk for $150 with low miles

if any one has any questions about the swap let me know  it is DEFINITIVELY !!! worth doing its easy and the bike is so much faster now i can cruse at 90mph on the high way and hit at least 110 with no problems i can pull the front wheel off the ground in first if i really punch it   the only down sides i can think of are the 650 charging system  the lack of a kick starter and i guess lack of aftermarket support

also at some point i did a twin disk conversion with ss braided lines and a 5/8 hyabusa master i can lock the front wheel at speed if i want to i highly recommend this for safety the tires are avon rode riders they work great but im only getting about 2500 miles out of the rear with the new motor
