No one mentioned clean drinkable water?  The cities will be deserted becuase there is no sustainable supply of clean drinkable water once the power grid goes down.  Head for the Great Lakes to build a community.  How long before they become poluted as well.Scott

"The Great Lakes -- Superior, Michigan, Huron, Erie and Ontario -- and their connecting channels form the largest fresh surface water system on earth. If you stood on the moon, you could see the lakes and recognize the familiar wolf head shape of Lake Superior, or the mitten bounded by lakes Michigan, Huron and Erie. Covering more than 94,000 square miles and draining more than twice as much land, these Freshwater Seas hold an estimated 6 quadrillion gallons of water, about one-fifth of the world's fresh surface water supply and nine-tenths of the U.S. supply. Spread evenly across the contiguous 48 states, the lakes' water would be about 9.5 feet deep."

We will be happy to share it with you all.. at say, $15/gal. Not much considering the cost to maintain the surveillance drones, razor wire and retired Black Water guards.  ;D Of course, we will only sell water from the U.S. side so as not to annoy our Canadian neighbors.  ;) I'm not sure I would call the The Lakes polluted in general, not sure I would classify them as potable either.  ::)
We'll all be someone else's PO some day.

I don't have a motorcycle, sold it ('85 Yamaha Venture Royale).  Haven't had a CB750 for over 40 years.

yeah you can drink the "experimental fuel" its basically moonshine, but for legal reasons its experimental fuel for my lawnmower, now to make it so my sohc can run on pure ethanol.

I figured thats what you meant. Yeah you should work on it. I'd love to see an ethanol only machine.

CB350f would probably ride in the back of the truck for emergency purposes, but no way I'm plowing thru zombies on my bike.

First things first though, cover up the pool and keep it treated for drinking.  That is our best source of water, it would take us a while to drink 11,000 gallons me thinks.

Hmmmm, what else?  I think I'll start training the cats to attack on command.  Maybe add some freakin' laser beams.

Honestly, given the choice, I'd have to leave the CB's behind and take out on my XL250s.
It gets better mileage and it's got off-road capability.

ya, i was thinking that too, cycleranger... but my ATVs are both 2 stroke, and I think 2 stroke oil would be harder to come by than fuel.  plus, they would need a rebuild every so often.  so, dependable it is!

That reminds me of a great short story. A friend of mine borrowed my moped back when I was 15. Ran out of gas on it and was smart enough to know it needed oil mixed in with the gas, clever enough to think 5w30 engine oil would work. Long story short it didn't. It didn't blow it up, but it sure gummed the #$%* out of everything. I'd be careful where you say two strokes are less reliable than 4 strokes, although I agree. There have been many never-ending wars over that subject. If I had an xl250 i'd be riding that as well. I used to have an xl100 and that bike was fun.
