Foot Pegs
«

First post here folks! Hello to all!
I got this bike in Oregon and one of my floats went bad so now I'm goin bratstyle. No better time than the present eh?
My issue is the bike frame is 77 and the motor is a 78 and the kick starter hits the foot peg. I've looked at hundreds of pictures and can't really figure out if my pegs are incorrect or is it just the motor positioning? Please help with some suggestions.

First off, welcome. I had a '76 550 F model and the foot peg folded up when you needed to use the kickstart.
Is it possible you have an F motor in a K frame? Check the VIN #'s.
Easy fix, get rear sets!

It's quite possible the frame is a K and the motor is an F. The bike is in my father in-laws shop. I will check it out when I get over there. Cut the rear end off over there and I am waiting on the tubing to arrive in the mail. So, just use my rear set of pegs on the front?
Thanks Stev-o for the input!

No no no, do not use the rear pegs on the front.
Rear sets are a mod that moves your leg's riding position back for a more comfortable position on a cafe style bike (brat too?). Look here...

I have a feeling it's the opposite....he has a K motor in an F frame. You need an F model kickstart. I have a pic somewhere......let me find it.

Here ya go....notice how it has the 'extension' on the part that fits over the splines? That should move it out past the brake lever.

Ah right! I think that may do the trick. We got an old Honda shop here in town and the owner will let you pick the basement. Getting one tomorrow...Thank you Scott S
