69 CB750   Sandcast.

I have a solid seatpan and a cover that is also in good shape.    Foam is toast.  So in keeping with my cheapskate, do-it-yourself ideals,
I'm going to try it myself.

My question is about the sharp triangular tabs the go through the cover and bend over to keep things in place.

What can I do to keep these tabs from breaking ?     Seems like there was an article somewhere about annealing those tabs.

Any ideas or words of wisdom here ?        Is it as simple as heating them up and cooling them down ?

Haven't started yet - any suggestions or methods greatly appreciated.
Yep, I'm the kid that figured out how to put things back together...eventually.

Be very carefull bending them out, I used a Phillips head screwdriver to push them back out. I only bent them enough as I needed and I still lost about 2 or 3.
