Oh and one more thing.  I made the double mistake of putting Keyster parts in the carbs and tossing the old hardware.  I ended buying OEM float valves because the spring differences between the OEM and Keyster were way different.  My carbs had difficulty shutting off with the more rigid Keyster valves.  Now all appears well but I'm not convinced the Keyster stuff is speck.

Take the bowls off one at a time, check fuel level and then push up on the float to be sure fuel is flowing freely through the float valve. If so, at least you can move on and focus on something else.
The current state is it doesn't start at all now?

Will do.  Yeah, it doesn't run at all.  I'll update tomorrow.

im not very familiar with these carbs but have you cleaned/replaced the slow jets?

Yeah I have.  Confident every conceivable passage is clear.
