Looking for bulk baking soda
« on: March 11, 2012, 07:27:40 AM »
Where can I find it (locally)?  I need to clean a couple of sets of carbs.  I've got the home made air gun/ vinyl tube set up and ready to go.

I checked Northern Tool but no dice.  Grocery stores don't sell anything other than those small boxes.  And I'd prefer to not order online due to shipping costs.

Where have you found yours?

They have like 5lb bags in the swimming pool area. I've bought that a few times for my pool.

You can sometimes find it at lowes/Home Depot/Walmart.

Also try local pool supply companies.

It's also called WASHING SODA, and is widely available in large boxes in the laundry detergent aisle of every grocery store.

You might also have some luck at Costco or BJs, or whatever "club" type of place you have in your area.

True "blasting" soda is usually a little more coarse than the laundry kind but the Arm & Hammer laundry stuff worked fine for me when I cleaned my carbs.

I just don't think its American to charge to go into a store.

so, Sams and Costco are out of the question.

I found a couple of 3.5 lb boxes of the Arm & Hammer Super Washing Soda at the local Ace Hardware for $4.29 per box.  Then I found a pool chemical supply company that I didn't even know existed that's 5 minutes from my house.  They sell 50 lb bags of sodium bicarbonate  (baking soda) for $31.60.  Thanks for the tip budlite!

X2 on harbor freight.
