I've never heard of bike tyres running over 40 psi but maybe I haven't been paying attention.
'Then' and 'than' are completely different words and have completely different meanings. Same with 'of' and 'have'. Set and sit. There, their and they're. Draw and drawer. Could care less/couldn't care less. Bought/brought FFS.

I have Lester wheels on my 550 with the 16" rear running BT-45 Bridgestones. When I first installed them I was running the factory recommended pressures and had a small wobble. I contacted Bridgestone and was told to run 2 lb less than maximum, which would put them at 39 lb each. Doing that dramatically changed the handling for the better and no more wobble to 95 mph. I am getting about a 4-5 lb increase from cold to hot pressures. You may want to contact the tire manufacturer and ask for their recommendation with your set up.

The way i've come to see tire pressure is like this, recommended pressures are just that, recommended pressures, its like a good base line to start. In all my cars, bikes, wheelchairs, strollers, etc... ;D i fiddle with the pressure until i find my comfort zone. Usually my car tires run more pressure keep the sidewalls stiff in the corner, same with the bike, it likes the pressure about 38-40, its all a matter of prefrence you really gotta play around with it.

My understanding is it's related to tire size... so mine are  120/90/18 rear and 100/19/90 front.
The original warning sticker is still on my rear fender and that's the pressures I use. I know the pressures stated are for the old 'inch' sizes, but the above tires are very close to the OEM sizes.......
Anyone else have any more info ?

Modern metric tires require approximately 8 PSI more than their equivalent 1970s siblings.

Here is the EXACT way to figure your tire pressure:

Start with a nominal value, like 30 PSI, and cold tires (parked for at least 1 hour, out of the sun). Ride the bike about 10 miles, then check the tire pressures. If they rise by exactly 2 PSI, you have the right pressure. If it rises by more than 2 PSI, add 2 PSI to the cold pressure and repeat the test. If they rise by less than 2 PSI, deflate by 2 PSI and repeat the test. Always start with the tires cold, though, or this does not work.

I learned this from the Continental Motorcycle Tires chief engineer, when the Conti Twins first appeared (a knowledgeable German rider). It is the engineer's rule-of-thumb for inflating motorcycle tires with unknown loads.

An example: my CB750K2 with Vetter fairing and me winds up with 38 PSI front, 39 PSI rear, on Avon Road Riders 100/90-19 front and 110/90-18 rear.

Wow, thanks for that man, i cant wait to try it. I've always gone by the feel in the corner, if its squishy or feels like its kinda sliding through i adjust. I much perfer a standard than eyeballing it. real cool :)
