New CB400F Owner St. Louis

Hello all,

After 20 years of not riding, I picked up a 1975 CB400 in November. Got to ride it for about a month until the battery died. The weather here has been unseasonably warm so in February I picked up a new battery and went to start it. Engine would crank, but not turn over. It was then that I noticed i'd left the choke open...since December. My guess is that now the carbs are now jacked.

Looking forward to riding again once this gets sorted out!

Leaving the choke open will not affect anything(other than allowing a mouse to crawl in :P)  try draining the gas from the float bowls and then allow fresh fuel to flow in. Also, if you continued to crank you may have fouled the plugs.  Good luck, download the manual from this site and ask questions-lots of smart people here.  and Welcome...Larry

PS.  change your title to 400

Oops, I'll have to change that typo in the header. I'll also look up draining the float bowls. Thank you very much for your reply!!

Thank you for your advice!  After draining the float bowls and replacing the plugs, with the help of a little starter fluid it fired up.
