I picked up this bike for a song with only 6,500 miles on the clock. I haven't been taking pics all along, but I thought I would post what I have. At the very least someone can use the pics to help with their builds. Here's what I started with.

I took off the tank and seat and took a ton of pics. Mostly to help with cable routing later on. Here are some that you might use.

Had the rims blasted and powdercoated locally for $80 total. Smokin deal. Got them home and started lacing with new spoke set for front and back.

It's not the greatest build thread, but I just don't have the time. When I get the wheels back from being trued, I'll get a better idea of what this baby will look like.

Where'd you get the seat? I can find similar, but they're all too narrow for my 550 frame. Looking good so far!

This one is pretty narrow too. Will have to cut off tabs and eliminate the seat lock.

Got the wheels back and mounted. Also painted the tins and tinted the headlight. A little polishing and detailing and I'll throw thus baby back together!

I like how it turned out. Now to address the leaking clutch cover and the two leaky carb bowls. Then I'll be ready to fire this beast up for the first time since 1991.

Looking good!  I'm curious about a couple things though...tire choice, and the tinting of the headlight.

Why did you choose knobby tires? Aesthetics only?

Tinted Headlights do what?? Another Aesthetic choice?

Tinting was an aesthetic choice. Not even sure if it's legal. Tires are trial tires. I live on a 90 acre farm with many dirt/seasonal road access points. They look mean, but I might be going off road a "little" as well.
