1969 Yamaha R3
« on: November 12, 2011, 08:02:02 AM »
Here is a project that I have picked up. The engine has been freshened up. I am planning to change the front end to a RD with disc brake, make a cafe seat and move all of the electrics under the back. I also want mount Exel rims and expansion chamber exhaust.

I like the old Yammies...save those Original parts for later because that one is a real nice classic !

Yes, I'd love to have it for a restore to replace one my brother brought back new in the crate on the aircraft carrier he was stationed on. Sure you want to go non-stock or sell?

It would be an absolute shame to do anything but restore that bike....  Later RD250's can be had cheap and are excellent bikes....

If You can't fix it with a hammer, You've got an electrical problem.

I though about restoring it, but all of the chrome is shot. Also I have to do what the customer want. I have to stay in his budget.

Here is a recent photo. I haven't worked on it much. The shop has been busy. I adapted a gt380 front end and made me a new mold for a seat pan.
