I just got a new basket case. CB750 VIN number 2320757. 1974 right? Anyway the tank and paint "appear" to be original. According to my searches the 74's came with three available color options and one called "Freedom Green Metallic". I am not color blind but man I will damned if it isn't blue! Does this seem right?

Nice score Branden where did you get it? I have a neighbor that has a planet blue K5 that she had restored. It's a beautiful bike unfortunately she never rides it. What are your plans for this one? Restore? Cafe?

Got it from a guy in Port Angeles for $325. No title. I plan on a modified stock daily rider.

My K4 has a build date of 10/73 and the VIN is: CB750-23216XX

For those who like CB750 trivia ... The K4 was produced in four colors.

Silver metallic is the fourth K4 color, but it was only available on the Japanese home market bikes.

Well, it turns out that I’m a little short on original Japanese silver K4 pics.

Hopefully this photo taken back in the day will get the idea across:

The JDM silver K2 and silver K4 are closely aligned at first glance as they both retain the blue tank stripes and silver paint. However, with the introduction of the K4, Honda adjusts the silver paint code and changes the tank & side cover emblems to the later K3-K6 design. The silver K2/K4 paint differences are the part numbers, color code and name change. Also, some may find it interesting that the K3 model was not released in Japan. Anyone know why?

K2: NQ = silver metallic custom

brandEn, It would be way cool to see a JDM K4 silver paint job reproduced. You might start a new trend around here for others to follow.

it was, but I do hope a picture surfaces that shows a little more of the color. I wasn't expecting it to use the early decals though. I have a freedom green currently(ish since its dented) but was thinking along the same lines as bran den, that would be a sweet bike to reproduce.

Did Honda make any other oddball colors/models that were only sold in select places?

Yes, Polynesian Blue. I believe it was a European only color, but available on a 450. I plan to use it on my K1.
