hey ebay junkies... a question and auction links
« on: June 03, 2006, 12:25:27 PM »
just listed my first item for sale ever...

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1,1&item=8071561727&sspagename=STRK%3AMESE%3AIT

let's say those boots don't sell... can i relist as many times as needed until they do sell (without incurring selling charges every relisting)?

YOu can relist them without Additional charges IF they sell the 2nd time.
Otherwise you pay the charges twice. ;D

Don't  you have to lower the price a certain percentage the 2nd time to get it again free?

http://pages.ebay.com/help/sell/relist.html

this is where I found the relist stuff. From what I gather, you can relist and if it sells you get a credit. more in depth at the site though.

(Wow, Heffay asking for advice, I stunned :o ;D :o ;D :o )

Peace,

Jeff

Nice looking listings!  Just a couple of tips for future auctions that I've learned from experience:

Either advertise flat-rate shipping for domestic buyers or use the shipping calculator in the listing.  You tend to get more bids, and thus higher selling price when the potential bidders know the shipping price up front.  Sure they could just ask you what shipping would be to their address before bidding, but a lot of folks don't want to bother.

If you're going to use the Reserve Price option, start the bidding lower to attract more initial lookers who may become bidders.  Otherwise don't use a reserve and either start the bidding at the lowest price you want to sell for, or start it really low and keep your fingers crossed that the price gets to where you want it in the end.  A lot of bidders are turned off by reserve listings and even more are turned off by high starting bids.  It's just a matter of how much risk you want to take.

For items like these, I would put exact measurements in the listing.  If someone knows the exact size of an item they will be wearing, they're more likely to bid, and will likely bid more because they know for sure it will fit.

Like I said, these are just a few things I've learned in my ebay experience, but they're good-looking listings.

One thing that bugs me is when someone list something and then puts a dark picture. I like the picture to be in plenty of light. Sometimes a picture is taken with a flash and you might see a bright spot on a bike or part.Dannie   P.S. Old Eyes I guess.
