Battery breather tube routing?
« on: June 02, 2006, 05:32:53 PM »
I've done a search for this and didn't come up with much.

Should the breather tube go against the frame on the kick-starter side then run down the bottom of the swingarm  to finish about an inch or two past the end of the swingarm?

That would seem logical but are there any pitfalls?

I've got mine just running straight down and grouped with the carbie breathers and hanging about an inch below the swingarm pivot and to the kickstart side to avoid any "emissions" going straight onto the tyre.
I guess you're trying to avoid any discharge from getting on the chrome pipes, but if it hangs low enough, wouldn't that be avoided anyway instead of running one all the way back? Anyway, that's my thinking......
Cheers
Peter.

No worries - just happy to be of assistance. Certainly wouldn't have been able to get anywhere as far with my "restoration" without the help of like minded individuals on this site!  :)
