Branden,

Those crankcases looks clean enough to use in an operating room.  Great work.

Branden,

I really like where this build is going.
Hot street rods are timeless as is the silver/blue paint scheme.
Loosing the passenger hoops was a good move too. Cleans it up nicely.

Cheers

Thanks for the replies fellas,

The plan for this one is nothing we haven't all seen before. Just a modified stocker. 836 kit with stock carbs and airbox. Guilari style seat and euro bars. Dual disc conversion, Hagon shocks, progressive fork springs. Everything will have been rebuilt. I am also thinking some aluminum Sunn rims and SS spokes from Bucannon. It will be a nice bike when its done but nothing over the top.

When talking about the Silver/Blue color scheme.... I found this one on the facebook "Honda CB 750 four" page and it's such a beauty ! A little nicer seat and that would be 10/10 in my book !

Please ! Take a look and give me feedback in my project thread, its much needed :)

Honda used two different silver/blue factory paint jobs on the CB750. First was on the K2 and second was on the Japanese market K4. The JDM K4 difference was the more pronounced candy blue tank stripe.

So I finally got my bearings from Yamiya after a bunch of extra paperwork I had to fill out for UPS and customs. What a PITA that was.

For the engine covers, hubs, and fork lowers I am having them powder coated with a two step metallic silver. I tried to snap a few pictures of my cam cover to show the color but pics just don't do it justice. I still need to have a couple parts shot.

So I spent the day installing the roller bearings and inspecting parts. I plasti-guaged the crank journals and decided on all greens. I put in an order to Service Honda for new crank bearings and all the o-rings and seals needed to button up the bottom end. All that's needed now is new crankcase hardware, a cam chain, and I need to go pick up the two needle bearings that install in the primary chain sprocket shaft. Oh yea and 754 is selling me a chain oiler plug!

That two-step metallic powdercoat looks nice on the valve cover.  How is the powder coat holding up on TAO's engine?  The Dupli-Color paint I've used, even though shot with clear, on Paddy's motor seems to wear fairly easily.  I'm looking for a viable alternative.

Mick glad you could join us!

theofam- all the powdercoat on TAO is great. The head and cylinders I painted with 2 part PPG urethane is holding up ok except it chipped in one spot. I love gloss black powder coating but if you look at it wrong it scuffs! It doesn't take much to make visible surface scratches and swirls.
