The 750 is looking real nice brandEn.  You've made good progress.  I really like the seat, too.

No problem. I also have a K4 so I'm really curious to see what you will do with this one. Your other bike is awesome and inspirational!

Got some more work done today. I worked on the rear fender and mounted a Lucas style tail light and some of those cheap EMGO indicators. I like the way everything is coming together. I am considering coating the fender gloss black. I think it would make the chrome on the tail really stand out. I also mounted some Euro bars.

I need to repair these threads on the rear hub. Bummer.

Modified speedo drive for dual discs

I got new stainless pistons from this dude dgs38

Started working on my gauges. I filled the tach damper with new 10K fluid and rolled the odometer back to zero. I need to find some face plates that I like and rattle can the bezels. The chrome on the back plates is shot so I need to figure something out because I would like to keep them chrome.

All the other bling and you aren't polishing up the caliper arm?
I spent some time on the polisher tonight on a couple CB550 caliper arms. Going to have to sand on one of them some (and repeat) as it didn't come up as nice. Need to use the dremel buff as I didn't have any of the cone buffs to get in around the raised portion for the adjustment screw...

Actually its about 65% polished... Just got to spend another 15-20 minutes with them on the wheel. I see what you mean though the pictures don't look polished at all. I hate polishing... ;D

Send them over, I like polishing and sanding, its therapeutic...but I'm a little nuts some say.  Since I'm unemployed right now, some spare time I have, motivation...depends.
Yours should polish up nicely, the parting line on the bottom will eat your wheels or tug the part when it catches.  A little time with an orbital sander on that seam would blend it nicely. Or careful file and sandpaper work.

Nice work on the Speedo drive plate.  Bike is coming along nicely.  When we dry out here you'll probably be done and ready to ride.   We'll have to meet for a ride and a pulled pork sammich at Paseos in Fremont.

I got mine from this guy at ebay

Good quality, but I don't know if he has later faces for yours.

Another place is cb750 guages.com.  I think they are from the Netherlands. Free shipping on eBay though it might take a while.

The CB750gauges is Lecram, a member here. He has the best looking gauge parts as far as I can tell.

Yes, they sure look nice!  I think mine may have been one of his resold by and American seller.  I could be mistaken though.

Hey branden, really nice project build. Have a question for you if you don't mind? You note that you will need to fix the threads on your rear hub, how are you going to go about that. I have two hubs that look about the same (maybe a little worst) that your and would really like to repair, or get them repair,so that they don't become nothing more than door stops. In the tips section one of the members suggested using a tap to clean the threads up but it doesn't seem like that is working for me.  Any help or insight would be great.  Once again I am enjoying watching your build. Thanks

Mark

Thanks Mark,

Well I just officially repaired the thread in my rear hub. I had a cheap tap from Harbor Freight and ground about 1/4" off the tip to eliminate the taper. That way I could use the whole length of the tap to bottom out on the hub threads. Just dragged it slowly and carefully along the threads filing away the damage. It took me about 1/2 an hour. I took my time and would clean the threads with a wire brush and try screwing in the retainer getting a bit further each time. Its important to make sure the threads are very clean each time you try because the damaged threads will gall VERY easily.

I also got a new rear "trolley" stand for TAO since she lost her spot on the lift. Moving it around in the garage made easy.

Wheel looks nice, digging that trolley stand for TAO.

Which Avons are you using on TAO, how do you like them and how are they wearing?  What sizes and pressures are you running?

Thanks for the polishing props, it is therapy for now.
