The head is going to be GM satin black. With the silver metallic powdercoated engine covers its really going to look sweet.

So after some confusion, an email, then a reply, and a bit of math I figured out my end gaps. Can't say enough good about Mikes machine work. The bores are perfect and the end gaps need no filing.

Pistons = 2.56"
Wiseco recommends .0045" per inch for the top ring which equals .011" gap. Mine is spot on out of the box.

So I received my head and cylinders from MRieck and they look great. I already have the cylinders painted and took these pictures before I tape up the head for paint. I installed my APE cylinder studs and started checking ring end gap for my Wiseco 836 kit.


 


































Installed the studs like Mike suggests. Small amount of red loctite and not much torque. Mock up the head and jugs and torque down the nuts letting everything set up for 24 hours.

Looks good Branden. I am very happy #1 chamber cleaned up as well as it did....it was pretty corroded. When using the Loctite make sure it does not "bubble up" when istalling the 2 studs that deliver oil to the top end. It will block the main galley feed holes. You can figure out what happens than and I have seen this occur.  I put the Loctite in the threaded hole (using a toothpick) on those 2 studs to prevent it from riding up the stud threads. I blow air through the oil feed holes in the head at the end to make sure everything is clear

Thanks Mike, I learned that lesson the hard way unfortunately on my F3 build.
Still hurts to think about.

Having Installed Infrared heaters for my shop heating I can see how they would be handy for painting. Even when the air is cold the part will heat up to where you can't even touch it.

Nice job, btw.

Thanks everyone. Unfortunately the engine build will be on hold while I focus my budget on getting my wheels and tires sorted. Gotta have a roller so I can use my lift for my other two bikes.
