Good decision, looks awesome! (Jealous).  This isn't your daily rider right, not like you'll do 3K miles a month and need an oil change.

Thanks man, a couple of your comments are what helped me make up my mind to buy this pipe. Give yourself a pat on the back. haha! And yea I will probably only do 2 oil changes a year at most.... until after the initial break in though.

Hey that pipe looks familiar!  Looks good on your bike, Branden!  I think the bracket is a good idea even if it's a belts and suspenders thing.

Can you get your pipe on/off by just pulling the springs and using the slip joints?

How are you you going to avoid getting oil all over your pretty pipe when it's maintenance time?

It really suits the bike though. Great choice.

Hey thanks!
I am gonna try removing and installing the pipe one more time with just the slip joints. I am thinking that maybe they weren't aligned properly when I put them on the first time. If that doesn't work then I will get a spin on filter and just use a bunch of tin foil to keep the oil off the pipes.

I have a spin-on adapter somewhere in my stuff.  I'd be happy to give it to you.

If you are worried about the pipes leaking or spinning you could always use some copper sealant.  I have used it on a number of bikes and always had great results.

I have a couple kinks to work out. My tach will need to be replaced. My carbs work great but it doesn't like to idle consistently.

Here is a video after the timing was set, carbs synced, and airbox installed.

I can't get it to idle consistently at a good RPM. After I blip the throttle it will either raise high or drop real low. Not sure what's going on just yet. Anybody have any ideas?

Its not the cables, it returns to the idle stop everytime.
Pretty sure its not a vacuum leak.
My first thoughts are the aftermarket float valves and float level. Will this cause this issue?

My screws are 1 turn out.

Not sure on the idle but the bike definitely sounds great! Love the sound of that pipe and your throttle response is pretty good suggesting quick starts off the line for you!

Idle thoughts -fuel flow? Float heights? Float valves sticking?

Bike sounds great with that pipes.  Let it warmed up and do carb sync, is idle screw working properly? While carb sync, lower carbs slides a little so your idle screw work properly

Thanks everyone. She revs GREAT, and responds well.

The idle stop works as advertised.
Sync was performed when engine was warm.
I tried lowering the slides and re syncing.
If I adjust the idle stop even a smidge it has a big effect on idle speed.

I adjusted my floats to 26mm before installing them. One thing I  noticed is that the float valve springs would not compress under the weight of the float when it was resting on the tang. Not sure if that would cause problems or not.

that pipe sounds absolutely delicious. just a little 2 cents. when I bought a carb rebuild kit I checked those float valve springs were stiffer than the oem ones. I bought new oem float valves and the springs were soft like the originals. maybe its minute but sometimes its the smallest things. those springs should be pretty soft to allow the float to properly stop. hope you find out the fix soon because it looks and sounds killer!
