Ok, I ordered u-coatit epoxy floor coating for my garage.  Anyone have any tips on install, and if they like the product or not?  I am also nervous about putting my bikes on there center stands once my floor is coated.

I've had a few shops with coated floors-  make sure the floor is prepped properly and etched well.  Centerstands shouldn't be an issue, but over time anything rubbing on the floor will wear through.

There was a thread on floor coatings a week or two ago- I think it was forum member retro rocket(who does this type of work for a living) recommended amerlock.  Think it was about 180 for enough to do a two car garage...Larry

Yes, Amerlock  is probably the best epoxy floor coating there is, very hard wearing. An acid wash is the best way to prep the floor,{mix hydrochloric acid and water in a bucket or large watering can at 4 parts water to 1 part acid and pour over floor and spread with a broom and keep area well ventilated} then fresh water rinse, then let it dry properly, putting a fan in the garage will help speed up the drying. Get a couple of cheap 4 inch paint brushes and do all the edges and around any posts first {cutting in}, then i pour a line of epoxy across the area i am going to paint, about 2 or 3 feet parallel from the nearest wall and use a 270mm or larger, medium nap roller  and roll in the paint, you can use the roller to push the paint and roll it in, do long straight runs. If you want a non skid finish you can use some dry pool filter sand and lightly throw it over the wet paint and let dry before rolling the last coat, when doing this i use spiked shoes to walk on the wet paint, an old pair of golf shoes might work......

As in, what will it do to the floor.?  I am not familiar with the product you are using, i do a lot of high traffic industrial floors with the Amerlock and it holds up really well to tucks, forklifts and stacking lots of heavy pallets, if you are worried about breaking through the coating just use a thin piece of ply wood under the bike, put or glue a couple of pieces of old inner tube under the ply to stop it slipping...
