Topic: 75 & 78 550 ignition swap

I have my front end off of my 78 550k. The ignition is an Emgo POS. It fell apart. Can I swap out 75 550f ignition to my 78? The connectors look the same.

I took the whole points plate out of my '78 750k and put it in my '77 550k.  Works great now!  I have about 200 miles on it since.  Just reread your post...did you mean to say ingnition switch?

You can put any ignition switch in you want, as long as you wire it correctly. I'm either using a superdream one or a Suzuki. Can't quite remember it's been that long.

AH yes the ignition switch. the back end fell out. rather then wait I want to remove my ignition switch from my 550F 75 to my 78 550K. This will allow me to have a driver and I can order a new one for the 550F.

I swapped it out from my 75 550F and works great. Bike is up and running
