Velocity Stacks

Anyone know where to find some 60mm velocity stacks that won't cost me an arm and a log? Maybe make your own instructions? i was thinking of just going to home depot and checking out their tubing section to find something that might work. thanks!

awesome thank you so much. think ill go with the brass? if i didn't have to rejet with the pod filters, do you think ill have to with velocity stacks?

The pictured stacks appear to be designed for cosmetics only, not function.  The sharp entry edges and no radius of the bell, the intruding flange that the screens are attached to, and the screens themselves, all will disrupt proper air flow.  Those actually look like they would be more restrictive than a stock air box.  I suggest you do some searches on the forum.  There is a comprehensive thread on velocity stack design somewhere that delves into this subject very well.

I ran around the block today without pods on and the bike seemed to run just fine. how will i know if i need to re-jet?

Jetting with pods or stacks is almost the same . Very little difference.
Depends if the pods have foam over them.

WE would need to know more information about the engine and type of exhaust
System and muffler being used as far as jetting information.

If you give it sudden  throttle and it dies ,or hesitates then you have more work to do,

well ill tell ya all about it. Its a 1982 cb650 running a mac 4-1 exhaust with open headers, no muffler. The bike seems to like a raped ape (really wanted to try that saying out ;D) with this setup and k&n pods, no hesitation or dying. i believe the main jets are 35 and the pilot is a 125

Install fresh plugs. Do a plug chop. Read the plugs. Then, if you understand pluge-ese (the language spark plugs speak), do what they tell you to do.
