750k2 steering bearing stack height?
« on: August 17, 2012, 01:55:49 PM »
I am attempting to install my all balls steering races and bearings. I have everything stacked for measurement but am lacking any ball bearings to put in the stack so I dont really have an accurate measurement.

Does anybody know the height or which spacer i should be using below the bottom race going into the steering stem for a 72 750?

and yes i have googled and searched the forum but i cant seem to find it, as it is very specific info.

thanks all!

Here's the penultimate thread on installing tapered bearings:

With the Allballz kit use the thinner spacer under the lower bearing.
I just installed a set on my CJ360 about 30 minutes ago. :)

When I did  mine recently on my 750F I wondered the same thing. It was pretty obvious when it went together. The steering lock "mechanism" lines up properly or it doesn't. No spacer on mine, just the seal and thin washer.
As of today 3/13/2012 my original owner 75 CB750F has made it through 3 wives, er EX-wives. Free at last.  ;-)

Thin washer=thin spacer.

Yes, all the 750's are the same.
In my photo I'm using the extra thick washer to help drive on the bearing.
