Good shocks for ridding two up..?
« on: March 22, 2012, 08:24:08 PM »
Hey everyone, getting my bike (1975 cb550) ready for this year.  Me 190lb, and the lady 125lbs will be cruising on it together often.  Looking for what you guys have done, or what i should avoid cruising with two up on the good ol' cb.  looking for anything.  Different shocks, moding stock.etc

I recently extended my swing arm 3inches.  So the shock mount is exactly where it was prior with my vintage drop blocks lowering kits were before.  I have heard people using harley heavy duty shock to keep your butt of the tire.  It would be a little bit of welding on the swing arm to accept the (harley bottom eye on the shocks,) i just want to figure this out before im on the road and figure it out the hard way. Anything would help. Thanks

Matt

I have Ikons on my 650 and they work great 2 up, they have adjustable dampers, and spring tension.
