Steering head bearings
« on: March 23, 2012, 07:39:28 AM »
Re-doing the front end right now. Anyone like the steering head bearings from Z1 or know the manufacturer who makes them? Also am considering Timken or KML, although Timken's need to be machined. Does anyone have part numbers for Timken or KML's for a 750k6?
Much appreciated.

I ordered my sprocket hub bearing from Z1 and it was allballs bearing. I got a neck kit from allballs directly, but i would call Z1 and ask...those guys have been great anytime I've called.

You can get the all balls set directly from them at www.allballsracing.com

Aren't Allballs really poor quality? I've heard this from many different sources. I think they were good at one time but no longer manufacture quality stuff.

As far as neck bearings are concerned, HondaMan's book specifically states allballz are good neck bearings. I don't know much, but I know he does;)

The allballs head bearing set will last until the current owner is dead.  What can go wrong with roller bearings in this application??  I put them on my CB500 a few years ago and they have been completely reliable so far.

Now there's an endorsement!
