Trail Ridge Rd - Rocky Mtn Park - Let's Ride!!
« on: June 03, 2006, 06:51:26 PM »
Looks like Trail Ridge Road has reopened for the season. Who's up for a ride? Approx 12,000 foot mountain pass with plenty of snow surrounding it. Warm sunshine and dry roads! Streams flowing. Best time to go !!! If you haven't done it you just can't imagine !!! Bring warm clothes and helmet to stay warm.

Just damn near any day except this next weekend. Do you have time during the week? What about Thursday? I'm as open as you get.

Gordon,
I like the way you think. Beer, the universal carb solvent. And Pabst Blue Rednecks to boot. Just picked up my cold 30 pack.

Gordon, Terry, Heffay,

Where is everyone? I'd be coming from the Springs through Denver headed north. I'm flexible. I would like to try to get an early start (let rush hour die down unless we need to head out sooner) from here. Stop in Aurora to catch up with my buddy Howard (VTX1800) then head north. Possibly meet up with another in Firestone somewhere along the way. Lunch is Estes Park perhaps then RMNP? Open for suggestions.

I'm in!  The earlier the better for me. ;D  If you're going up through Firestone, I may just have to meet up with you in Estes Park.  I'll probably take 36 from Boulder up to Estes.  Or we could hook up in Lyons if you know somewhere to meet, say 11 am at the latest?  Like I said, the earlier the better for me.

Heffay, Terry, you guys gonna make it?

Gordon,

Red Hill Motorcycle Works in Lyons. We'll shoot for 11am. I'll see if my bro in law in Firestone wants to go and I'll have him meet us if so. PM me with your cell number just in case there are any issues with old motorcycles along the way. Same for you other guys - ok???  Looking forward to meeting other posters for the first time.

well, i don't think i would be riding my sohc4 as the last ride really got some nasty noises brewing... think i need to swap the motor out since i have an extra one and all.

i'll also be able to give a definite tomorrow or so... starting a new remodel tomorrow and will be scheduling then.

Hey All,
I'm in for the ride. I don't have my 500, 550 or 750 running yet. I will ride the Wing though if you'll let me tag along.

Paul,
A ride's a ride. Worse comes to worse I'm on my H----y. Main thing is we get together and do a ride. Old Hondas always need some type of attention. Lets put a final head count together Wednesday and get phone numbers.

I'm working on the 750 tomorrow night to see how close I can get it. I need a petcock for a 750F.

Paul,
I'd let you have mine if I could find a new one. I was at Boulder Bike Works a couple weeks ago. They have multiple K's and 1 nasty Blue 75 750F tank sitting on top of a K. Not sure if it had a petcock. Think so. 651-3787. See you Thursday.

I'm pretty close to Steele's, but be working in Boulder today. I'll see if I can score one today. I don't think I can get a rebuild kit from Honda anymore.

Looks like 6 of us. I got a little worried when I fried my solid state reg/rect today trying to make everything work better. Thought I might have to ride my spare bike, the Fat Boy. Found my old reg & rectifier, hooked em up, did 65 miles at 80+ and came back with a battery that had more charge than when I left. 11am it is. Guess it won't be hard to spot each other.
