Hey All,

Does anyone recall seeing a picture on the cover of a brit bike mag where a guy in old style kit on a Vincent is hanging off the saddle, dragging a duct-taped knee? It would have been in the last 3 years. I saw it and said "Cool!", but then I read the article and found out it was a staffer dressed for the part. I ask because a website I frequent has posted a B&W version and claims it is of John Surtees, at 15!!?!?!, but neither he, nor anyone of his time, rode like that. I can't remember which mag it was.
This is the photo, but the one I saw was color.

1977 F2 "Highway Star"
1977 F2 "Bike-In-A-Box"
1978 K8 "Frankenbike"
1991 CRX Si "Buzz Bomb"
2000 Jeep Wrangler "UBoat"
2011 BMW S1000RR "TIE Fighter"

I'm not having any luck finding the magazine.  All I've found so far is an article on another website with a non-sepia toned b&w version of the same picture from earlier this year.  You may be able to contact the author of that article, Bobroy, to find out where he got that image from.

Originally from Performance Bikes magazine sometime in the 90's.
Not John Surtees  ;)  from memory it's Mark Forsyth one of the staff writers.
Not a bad mag in the day.. I preferred Bike.
These days I hardly read any mainstream bike mags, apart from Australian Motorcycle news. Race reports (Moto GP and WSBK) and Fred Gassit  ;D
