In your first pic that inlet should have a wire grill on it.  Inside the airbox itself there should be some more metal parts.

Not super important but they do perform a function.  You could easily make your own grill.

The air horn was only used on Cb550F models and the 77-78 Cb550K models.  It should have a screen/grill in scoop.
It was held on by tall shaft wing nuts, which are far more convenient than the nuts shown in your picks.

Your air filter is upside down.  That big hole will provide an air bypass around the filter element.  I think mice could be ingested the way it is now.  But, don't tell PETA or PETI.  (People for Ethical Treatment of Insects)  ;D

what about 18,19,20,21?   i don't seem to have those.  are they super important?

Those parts comprise the engine breather, water separator.  Without them, the filter element will foul and clog pretty quickly with engine vapors/oil droplets, etc.
The filter seats/seals on top of the breather components to block off that big hole that you show placed on top.

Funny you should ask if they are important.  The assembly of components works as part of a whole system.
I've seen people drive 4 wheel cars with only three wheels attached.  But, I wouldn't want to operate it that way routinely.  ;D

Super important?  Well, the engine will run without any filter components, just not well, and with some risk to engine longevity.  It will run without a spark plug, too!  But, that would not be desirable, imo.

Should I mention you are missing hoses that connect to those fittings.  Two of them are not ordinary.

Cheers,

Nice picture.  :)

The only things I don't see are the metal compression sleeves for keeping the assembly bolts from extruding the plastic components.

If your bike is a "K" model, you should have what's in the pic. As TT said : "The air horn was only used on Cb550F models and the 77-78 Cb550K models", so the cover you have is for an "F" or later "K" model.

The spacers TT was referring to are two ~ 1/2 inch X 1/4 inch dia steel tubes that fit in between the plenum and the filter box (not shown in the pic - thanks, TT; I hadn't noticed that omission. I'll have to re-shoot!).

I'm not familiar enough with the "F" bikes to tell you if you can use that on your "K" bike or not; there may be differences in the seat configuration(?). Maybe someone who knows will chime in.  :)

Good luck!

Except for the tray vs air horn, the filter assemblies are the same f and K for the 76 year (and some others).

am i missing anything for my 1976 550K?
I don't see any mounting brackets, screws, or compression collar hardware.

It goes on top of the air filter box at the front, to seal where it nears the tray (which is the top for the filter box).
