Frame ear
« on: March 24, 2012, 10:41:51 AM »
So the PO chopped off the left frame ear on my K6 to "save weight" but left the right one for the exhaust. Now I want to put the rear passenger pegs on so I can go two up but I can't since the left side is gone. Any suggestions? Weld a new one on? Or mount the pegs elsewhere?

Safety and comfort of the passenger is as important as yours.  I doubt you can find a location for a passenger peg any better than the original.  Personally I would replace it with a stock mount properly welded in position.   Lots of guys cut them off when making cafe's or bobbers, traditionally solo rides.  If someone on the board doesn't have what you need there is always the bike salvage yards.
