Controls- will these ones work?
« on: March 24, 2012, 05:16:28 AM »
I've been searching around for a new right hand control for my 72 cb500 and can't find anything oem.  I found this link in a previous thread here...

Will these work?  Which one will work best?

Yes those can be used. Hopefully when they send them to you ,you'll get a wiring diagram!!
No diagram!! you'll need to read each wire as to what gets powered when you change switch position!!

The way I do this , hook a LOW amp battery charger leads to the  wiring of the switch,, USUALLY RED wire is power and groung to the switch housing, then just chase wires 1 at a time and label.
Since this switch is for XS650 you'll have to remove the connector that plugs to the bikes wiring and rewire seperately..

GOOD LUCK
try using this as a base

Another thought- I see lots of these on eBay but not really any for my year and engine size.  But would it be better/ok to keep in it Honda and may go with something from a 750 in the later 70's.
They all look like mine... How different are they really?
