Speedo Cable Question

Hello All,
I recently bought a new speedo cable (along with new mini speedo and tach) because the PO was running a tach only set-up. Last night, I installed the new speedo and tach and installed the speedo cable. My question is that when plugging in the speedo into the front wheel hub, the cable fits and all, but it won't stay in the hub. Am I missing some type of adapter that keeps the speedo cable afixed to the "hub socket"?

There should be a bolt that goes through the housing and locks the cable housing groove on the end.
