A 51 year old rider on his 1000cc machine slammed into a car on a narrow country road locally, the rider with 6 others was enjoying one of the few ridable days we have had this month.
Even hardened Police who attended the scene were affected by the sight they came upon, the first two riders in the group came over a small rise and found a car in the middle of the narrow road, they had a split second choice over left or right and the unfortunate rider who went right collided with the car pushing the "A" pillar into the car driver's head slightly injuring him.
Long tire braking marks leading up to the accident site indicate speed was probably a factor.
One witness first on the scene said that without the rider's full leather suit, he would have been spread over a very wide area!
Let's be careful out there folks, esp you Northern riders coming into your riding season. :)

I think the thing I most like about motorcycling is the speed at which my brain must process information at to avoid the numb skulls who are eating pies, playing the ukulele, applying make-up etc in the comfort of their airconditioned armchairs as they make random attempts to kill me!!!!!!!

Thank yu for a warning and the rememinder. Its too bad that sometimes this is what it takes to bring about the reality of this dangerous hobby and also the stupidu of some that share these roads...... Boats

Speed of who?  The rider or the car in the middle of the road?

 We lost one here the other day..guy in his 50s wife on the back, stopped at a light behind a van . Next driver came along yakking on his cell and  pushed him into the van... died of crushed chest..
 I dont know about you guys but there is something newspeople do that really p!!ses me off..
 On this accident and 2 more this year.. bicycles that got run over by semis.. they mention the type of helmet or lack of helmets.. Anyone on here know of a bicylist surviving being run over by a semi because they wore a helmet ??

Very narrow road with lots of lovely twisties for the bike riders, car driver would have been taking up most of road just to stay on tarseal, when two cars pass on thsi road they have to kinda edge past each other so not really driver's fault this time.
RIP David Fair, father of 4 and all round good guy according to his bike mates. :(

'Tis the season, methinks, one of the regular posters on the Triumph Rocket III forums was killed last friday on a ride with some of his mates, I don't know all the details yet, but I think he lost it on a gravel section and hit a tree. No cars involved, just bad luck. Cheers, Terry. ;D

No #$%*, they go out of their way to let you know "The rider was not wearing a helmet..." when pretty much 95% of the time a helmet would not have made a damn bit of a difference. At least on motos the people have somewhat of a chance due to the mass of the bike absorbing a little of the energy but when people get whacked on bicycles they get the full brunt of the force- WHACK! Roadkill.
