Choke cable install problem on my 78 CB550
« on: March 26, 2012, 02:14:36 PM »
Im having trouble installing the choke cable to the carb. The cable was on the bike but it did not come installed on the carb linkage.

Can someone provide pictures of their choke cable set up and routing of the cable? I been looking and looking but I havent had any luck.

Thanks in advance!

First pic shows the choke cable attached.

Second pic shows the screw. You slide the the cable through there and tighten screw.

Last is where the choke pull gets attached. Left side top bolt of triple.

If you need anymore pics let me know

Thanks so much Tews19!

I cant wait to get home and install it correctly

Btw - its really difficult to push or pull on the choke knob knob while its not its not installed. Is that normal?

Sounds weird, maybe it is attached.. I know they can be stiff.

BTW, before you tighten the screw, make sure you have the cable attached, once attached then tighten.

At the base of the choke knob is a tension/friction adjust, which tends to hold it in place during warm up.
