MIS-informational thread re: carb tee orings
« on: March 28, 2012, 09:24:57 AM »
There have been discussions about these, and where to find them.
I remember a post by Bryan Jones contained part number
16173-044-004 (thanx Bryan). This is STILL a good number. I just got 8 of them for 2.58 at the local Honda dealer. These fit the 750 thru k6, (possibly the 550/500 too.)
while I was there, checked availability of carb manifolds (available)
at around 12.00 each. Air cleaner tubes are available too, at around 12.00 ea. Rubber top adjuster covers available as well, but pricey at around 15ish U.S.D. Some of this is out there on E bay and priced nearly TWICE as much as the dealer. Just passin this along.....Some times the dealers aint so bad. :)

EDIT: Just got word that #16173-044-004 for carb tee orings is
an OBSOLETE number. The parts guy was very apologetic, and even showed me where it said they were available, but the message that came back was OBSOLETE PART, no longer available.

Sorry for the misinformation folks...Didn't mean to intentionally
mislead anyone.  :-[

I see a lot of available parts for sale thru ebay (for some people it is easier/maybe no local dealer). Any part you see with the red and white label tag (new style) is available thru Honda usually. Some parts aren't available in all markets (Canada,US & Europe)

I use the more common 8x2mm rings, easy to find. Cheaper, too!
The 7.8x1.9 number in the Honda catalogs is the MINIMUM size that will seal and fit without a leak.  ;)

Are carb manifolds really $12.00 each or is he getting a deal. I was thinking they cost more.

Do these o-rings have to be a certain kind of rubber?

Viton lasts longest with ethanol, but not really necessary, since there are redundant seals on the tees.
