Breadbox Filer Foam
« on: April 22, 2012, 04:37:01 PM »
Does anyone know where to get replacement filters for the old style breadbox units?
Thanks,
Chris

I used vent filter material from Menard's. There's enough filter material in the package to pack the breadbox about four times. I think it cost about $3.

Thanks.  I will give it a try.  We don't have Menards in my part of the country but I'm sure a Lowes or Home Depot will have something similar.

The foam "garter" they sell to go around paper element filters can be cut and shaped to fit most filtering needs.  A coating of oil, mostly removed, will give good filtration.
36 years of this stuff, here to help.

Thanks for those, I picked up a breadbox filter box and was wondering what to use as a filter element.

Cheers.
