Topic: GL500 wiring opps

So last night I changed out the steering stem bearings on my 1981 GL500 for a set of taper rollers.  All went well and took the bike out for a testride.  All was well except that the right signal indicator wasn't working nor the engine temp gauge.  I pulled the headlight open and found that I had wired the green/blue wire to a green ground wire this morning so I fixed that but neither are working still.  I double checked all the connection and it looks good, anyone have a suggestion of where to look next?   Might I have broken a wire in the wiring harness?

I would just recommend keep double checking All your connections until you find where the wires have lost contact..possibly in the handle bar to frame ground connectors ? I think the top triple needs to be grounded to a frame ground,or to a green harness ground if nothing else.

Walking away for a couple hours and then looking coming back to the problem sometimes really helps.  I am not sure why but there was an extra black wire and a missing black/brown wire.  put the two together and I have a temp gauge again.  I then switched the wire from the indicators to the opposite  sides and have concluded the wiring to be good,  the bulb burnt out.

Now it is riding time!
