Wow!  I can't believe that was free!  I too am not fond of the DOHC's but that looks great!  It's amazing what one can do with a little mechanical knowledge, will, research and persistence.

Also, I went to get some pine sol and realized there are many different kinds.  Did you just use regular type or ??  I got a nice very low mileage k3 engine (stuck) and a set of carbs that I'll dig into soon plus my cb350f carbs that need cleaning.

Thanks! Yes, just the regular Pine Sol although I got the lemon scent and it turned my stomach after awhile. it's a very strong smell but works very well. Cheers, Cliff.

I know what you mean. These came out when I was "away" from motorcycles, for about 25 years. I didn't know much about them and my focus was on the SOHC4. I had in mind to build a rider, one I could park somewhere and not worry to much about it. Park a good SOHC4 and it's hard to leave it alone, at least for me. The theory with this one is that I won't get stopped every 5' with questions about it and people wanting to sit on it and touch it. It's starting to look good so maybe that theory is done.
This bike came along at the right time and right price. My K0 project is stalled to a lack of large funds to finish it - paint + pipes = $2500 or so. The Goldwing is not as sporty as I would like for short blasts around town. We'll see if it works.
Cheers, Cliff.

It's just sitting there. I did repair the flat tire so it's easier to roll around now. There's a large swap meet next weekend and I'll see if I can find any treasures there for it. I really need a set of handlebars for it. Cheers, Cliff.

Cliff,
Did you get a registration plate on her and go for a ride yet? or are you going for that "One for All" multi bike Collectors deal that you folks up there can get in B.C. I heard you earlier about that..I think it was part of this thread;do you have to get this CB750F inspected for "true to stock" condition before they'll issue you that special collectors license plate for a number of bikes ? That seems like such a Great deal for you up there in B.C. ;D

I haven't got the collector status yet. I'll need to do more work to it but I think I'll send in the application and pictures anyway to see what happens. It's cheap insurance especially if you have several bikes. One licence plate and you move it bike to bike. It has to be true to stock or period correct. You can send in a picture of what you're thinking of using, such as the Mac exhaust system, and they will tell you if it's acceptable or not. They do have some flexibility but they don't want to see dents, scratches, rust etc. I think I'll put short term regular insurance on this one for the time being. It will be a go for coffee, lunch or solo clear the cobwebs bike. I've been having a good time working on it and thinking of a down to the frame job in the fall when the weather turns on us. I won't have to do a lot of parts hunting as it's fairly complete. Cliff.

Cliff,
I doubt the inspectors that look at the 2 into 1 MAC exhaust would be able to notice the difference between the stock exhaust and that MAC...at least from the side view ;).

i did sent them pics of a stock exhaust system and the Mac and the were ok with them. I waited for that before I bought them. there seems to be a bit of flexibility from some inspectors and not others at the approving office. Cliff.

How old does a bike(or car)need to be before it'll be considered "collectable" under the Department of Motor Vehicle standards ?

Cliff,
I read the stuff/info from the ins. co about "collectors" vehicles;does you're CB750F qualify for the 25 year old status yet? I would think it would qualify for all the other rules & regulations that I read about considering what nice Original condition it's in; maybe the real date of manufacture on the i.d. tag on the frame is early enough for it to qualify..
