honda cb550 i just give up i need some help

ok pulled this bike out of a field and i cleaned the points and put new plugs in and it has great spark..... pulled the carbs off and went threw them and cleaned out every little hole that i could see used compressed air and cleaned the jets and re assembled.... she will fire up but only with the choke on and while giving her gas she will not run on her own.... and if i even think of taking the choke off she will die immediately....what to i do.......... by the way im new to this fourm....

It sounds like there's still some gunk in the carbs.  Did you physically remove each jet and visually verify it was clean and clear?  Sometimes pilot jets can be a bit of a pain to get clean.  Try to pass a piece of wire through them to help.

How dirty is the tank? Could be debris/rust getting into your cleaned carbs.

Spray some carb cleaner around the boots between the carbs and head... If it revs up you have a vacuum leak. Sounds like my problem... I tightened them up and it ran good... I had the same symptoms, it would only run on choke and with the throttle.

Did you adjust the point gap?
Did you set the timing?
Did you adjust the valves?
Did you bench sync the carbs when you cleaned them?

any of those steps you skipped go back and do. There is a manual  available online and tons of info on this forum.
