Wiring harness issues on CB400f
« on: April 02, 2012, 08:45:53 AM »
I'm not real swift with wiring, I replaced the right and left handle bar controls on my 75 CB400F.
Some of the colors of the wires coming from these controls, do no match up with the wires coming from the
main harness under the tank. What tools and reference do I need to sort out these connection, and those in the headlight bucket
Thanks
Don

The shop manual contains a wiring diagram.
You can download a pdf here:

Did you replace the controls with ones specific to your year, make or model?

If not then you will also need the wiring diagram for the year they were designed for .

With the two manuals you should be able to determine which wire performs what function.

If don't know what year they are from you are going to have to open up the controls and make a list of what wire does what function and then compare it to your stock wiring diagram.

CycleRanger and Toxic, thanks for the info.
They are from the same year and model, so the shop manual should do the trick.
