I've used a small size SS wire brush..a "detail brush" that welders use and just cleaned off as much rust as I could w/ that;if the part that is corroded is where the fork seals ride up & down...well, I would either replace the fork tubes or use a very small little square of fine emery cloth and then with the edge of my fingernail try to very lightly soften a few of the sharp edges on the most jagged nicks so they won't cut up you're new fork seals, but don't go too deep, you don't want to sand through the outer plating that protects you're fork tubes. How do you're forks look ?
