Greeting From Raleighwood!!!!!!
« on: December 14, 2011, 05:48:59 AM »
Just purchased this '78 CB750k with only 3,300 miles on it:

and is now entirely apart and receiving a full cafe treatment. I am using a Kaw KZ750 front w/dual discs and KZ rear with single disc. Found a nice cafe seat, Mac 4/1, am ISO rearset, tank, rear lowering shocks and clip-ons....
Motor is out, and being prepped for paint, as is frame. Hope to post pics of progress..

Nice bike, post some pics when you start getting it back together.  We would love to see the progression

here's what I have so far, just got some $$ from selling one of my other bikes, soprogress should start in earnest now...

The start:
3,300 actual miles, many years in the weather....crud everywhere...

got it apart and sold what I didn't need...still have stuff if anyone needs anything...

down to the nitty...

trying to make the nitty less gritty

gathering parts as I come across deals...

was going to paint this after stripping, but now I think I may just clean up and clearcoat...

fell into another deal on this...

got these from a fb friend that had them laying around and never used them...

after MUCH scrubbing, stripper and anything else I could find to de-crud, engine is being painted....

RED!!!!! RED!!!!!

painting the other stuff...

This was my original project bike, until the motor let loose while we were tuning it up... so we are putting the front end and the swingarm/rear wheel on the CB for some stopping power

cleaned and painted wheels, resurfaced rotors, rebuilt calipers....

Next week is when I'm going to be able to start buying what I need to get her back together....

Well, it's been a while, here is the project very, very near completion:

I don't like the mat black paint, so that will be changed in a few days to a Midnight Pearl.
